Who's having a baby? I am!

Holy crap! I'm prego! Got a positive on my home pregnancy test on August 3rd, and a beta hCG count of 610 on cycle day 17. Woohoo! Scary - that is a typical number for twins...Hmmm... Mike is thrilled! I am thrilled! Our parents are thrilled! I'm not telling until my birthday on the 18th. It's been so hard not to tell anyone, though! Ahhh! Here's a belly shot the day after I found out. I was on my way to a bachelorette party, of course! :-)

Finished the Skully Purse

I finished the purse right after the last blog, but I was being too lazy to blog until now. Here's a pic of the finished product:

I also just finished my 1st pair of baby booties, and am currently working on a hat in the same fuzzy, fluffy strand-of-heaven that I knit them in. And, now that I understand a little better how booties work, maybe I will try those knit Uggs once more. The last time, it looked like a soda koozie with a penis.

Blogger likes Firefox much more than Opera

As do most websites.

Anywho, back to my random ravings as I had intended. It's been a while since I blogged, so I figured I would post something useless to the knitting world. I will post something about my newest purse in a little while, when I have more time. But for now, I must settle for posting something as useless as magnets in a classroom without whiteboards.

My Tools, Please

Got sick of the old knitting needle case I had knit a while ago. It was knit using a medium sized needle, and meant to slip the needles through the knit to hold them. Unfortunately, I like using very large needles, which wouldn't fit & were lying loose in my bag. So, since I had the good ol' sewing machine out to take in a pair of pants & the gosh darn iron out to iron some other pants, I figured "why not make a fabric needle case like I have seen on other websites?"
So, I got out the massive stack of material I inherited from my mom, cut out a rectangle approximately 1.25' by 2', hemmed it, sewed little pockets inside, and voila! a more efficient case for my needles. Yay!

A Cheaper Headband

Ah, yes, Anthrolopogie... truly a great store, with great knit, braided headbands. My friend bought this one on sale for $12 back before Christmas, but the only other one they had was a pea green one that wouldn't go so well with most of my clothes (I love gray for it's versatility with any color!).

Well, being that I am obnoxiously cheap and that I like to thwart expensive retailers with my knitting prowess, I decided to knit one up for myself. Almost 3 months later, I finally finished my knit, braided headband, and I am very proud of myself. I was fairly hasty in finishing, so there are random loose yarn ends poking out, but I figure that will be hidden beneath my hair. If I make more, I will be sure to weave the yarn ends in so that they are unseen. In any case, I am proud of myself for spending only $3 for yarn (again - cheap yarn from Wal-Mart because I am tightfisted!) and using ribbon that I had bought at Joann's for $1 per yard. Plus, I could make gazillions of these things using the same ball of yarn! Yay me!


(And yes, I DO need to dye my hair. Hush!)

Ugh!

For some reason, I cannot remember my username OR password for my other blog on Blogger. This sucks. I have logged in before, but I somehow forgot to write down the login info, & cannot remember it to save my life! Well, I will just have to link the old one to this one and start anew. Ugh!
